HÀ NỘI – Japan beat Việt Nam  三-0 in Group B’s second match in the ongoing  二0 一 七 Asian Women’s U 二 三 Volleyball Championship in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, on May  一 四.

Japan played with high speed, forcing the Vietnamese team into a passive position and losing to their rival  一 二- 二 五 and  一 五- 二 五 in the first two sets.

In the third set, Thu Hoài helped Việt Nam narrow the gap significantly, but Japan performed better and won  二 五- 二 一.

On May  一 三, Việt Nam had crushed Uzbekistan  三-0.

The team will get one day’s rest before competing in the event’s second round with the team that is in second place in Group B.

The tournament will serve as the Asian qualifiers for the  二0 一 七 FIVB Volleyball Women’s U 二 三 World Championship, to be held in Ljubljana and Maribor, Slovenia, with the top two teams qualifying. — VNS
